Marketplace
Buy and sell cosmetics with other players for gems, at a set price, at auction or by offer.
The marketplace is where players sell cosmetics to each other for gems. Open it with /marketplace
(or /market). Everything on sale is a look, never power, so it moves gems between players without
making anyone stronger.
There are two ways to sell:
- Buy It Now: one price, and the first player to pay it gets the cosmetic.
- Auction: a starting bid and a time limit. Players bid against each other, and the top bid when time runs out wins.
What can be sold
Only the ordinary cosmetics anyone can get for gems, and only ones you own for good:
- Pickaxe skins sold in
/cosmetics. - Everything in the Cosmetic Capsule: chat colors, tab flair, kill messages, pickaxe skins and particles.
Some cosmetics stay with your account and can never be sold:
- Holiday cosmetics from the calendars.
- Battle Pass rewards, like the Code Blue pickaxe.
- Rank cosmetics: rank chat gradients, kill messages and armor skins, the Warden set, the Gradient Name and the Custom Trail.
Buying
Browse what’s on sale, then click a Buy It Now listing to see it with its price and your gems, and
click again to buy it. It’s yours for good straight away: wear it from /cosmetics. You can’t buy
your own listing.
The bottom row of the marketplace has:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cosmetic Type | Show one kind of cosmetic. Left-click for the next, right-click to go back. |
| Sort | Newest, Ending Soon, Lowest Price or Highest Price. |
| Listing Type | All, Buy It Now only, or Auctions only. |
| Sell a Cosmetic | Put one of yours up for sale. |
| My Bids & Offers | The auctions you’ve bid on this week, and offers made to you and by you. |
| Sales History | What each cosmetic sold for over the last 90 days. |
| My Listings | What you have up, and how your last week of listings went. |
Try it on
Not sure? Click Try It On on any listing or auction before you spend a gem. Nothing is unlocked, so there’s nothing to keep:
- Pickaxe skins appear on a pickaxe floating in front of you, turning so you can see every side.
- Particles play on you for 30 seconds. Walk around to see them move.
- Chat colors, tab flair and kill messages show as a sample line in chat.
Offers
See a cosmetic you want that nobody is selling? Make its owner an offer. Run
/marketplace offer <player>, or click Make an Offer in My Bids & Offers, and you’ll see the
cosmetics they own that can be traded. Click one and type your offer in gems. Right-click to try it on
first.
Your gems are held the moment you offer, for up to 48 hours. If the owner turns it down, or doesn’t answer in time, they come straight back. You can take an offer back yourself at any time before it’s answered.
When someone makes you an offer, you’re told in chat, or the next time you join. Answer it from
/marketplace offers: click twice to accept, or right-click to turn it down. Accepting sells
the cosmetic for the offer, less the 7.5% tax. It leaves your account and goes to the buyer, and
you’re paid straight away.
If you no longer have the cosmetic when you accept (you sold or listed it in the meantime), the offer closes and the buyer gets their gems back. You can have up to 5 offers waiting at once.
Bidding
Click an auction to see the top bid, who holds it, how many bids it has and how long is left. Then:
- Left-click the bid button to bid the lowest amount allowed.
- Right-click it to type your own amount in chat.
Each bid must beat the top bid by at least 5%. While nobody has bid, the starting bid is the lowest you can offer.
Your gems leave your balance the moment you bid, and are held while you’re winning. If someone
outbids you, they come straight back, and you’re told in chat. If you’re offline, you’re told the next
time you join. When the auction ends, the top bidder gets the cosmetic, ready to wear from
/cosmetics.
A bid in the last minute pushes the end out to a minute from then, so an auction always ends with everyone having had the chance to answer. Nobody wins by sniping.
My Bids shows every auction you’ve bid on this week: the ones still running (winning or outbid, your bid, the top bid, time left), and the ones that ended and who won them. Click a running one to bid again.
Selling
- Click Sell a Cosmetic and pick one of yours. Only cosmetics you’re allowed to sell are shown.
- Type a price in gems in chat:
1500,1,500or1.5kall work. Prices go from 100 to 1,000,000. - Check the confirm screen. It shows what that cosmetic has sold for lately and what you’ll receive after the tax. Change the price from there, or click List to put it up.
To auction it instead, click Listing Type on the confirm screen to switch to Auction. Your price becomes the starting bid, and the clock beside it picks how long it runs: 2 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours or 1 day.
A listed cosmetic leaves your account until it sells, so you can’t wear it meanwhile.
- Buy It Now: take it down any time from My Listings (click it twice) and it comes straight back. A listing that hasn’t sold after 7 days comes back to you on its own.
- Auction: you can take it down until someone bids. After the first bid it runs to the end. With no bids by the end, it comes back to you.
When it sells, you’re paid in gems, even if you’re offline, and told about it the next time you join. For an auction, you’re paid the winning bid, less the tax.
Editing a listing
My Listings shows your listing slots across the top: what you have up, free slots (click one to sell), and slots a higher rank would open. Below are your listings from the last week: what sold and what you earned. Click one that came back to put it straight up again.
Click a listing to edit it. Until someone bids, you can:
- Change the price (or the starting bid). The clock keeps running.
- Start an auction from a Buy It Now listing that isn’t moving. Pick the length, type a starting bid, and players bid it up. Or switch an auction back to Buy It Now at a set price.
- Renew a Buy It Now listing for another 7 days, or set a new length for an auction.
- Take it down, by clicking twice. It comes straight back to you.
Once an auction has a bid, it can’t be changed: it runs to the end and goes to the top bid.
Tax and limits
| Sale tax | 7.5%, taken from what the seller receives |
| Buy It Now length | 7 days |
| Auction length | 2 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours or 1 day |
| Minimum raise | 5% over the top bid |
| Price or starting bid | 100 to 1,000,000 gems |
| Offers | wait up to 48 hours; up to 5 waiting at once |
| Listings at once | 3, or 4 for Convict, 5 for Kingpin and 6 for Warden (auctions included) |
The tax isn’t paid to anyone. It’s what keeps prices honest.
A gem balance below zero locks you out of buying, bidding and selling until it’s cleared.
Tip: check Sales History before you price something. It shows the last price, the average and the range for every cosmetic that sold in the last 90 days, auctions included. A low starting bid draws more bidders.
