Currencies
Money, tokens, shards, gems and Merits.
Code Blue has five currencies. Each one has its own job, and only money can be paid to other players.
| Currency | How you get it | What it buys | Can be paid? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mining | Prestige, and the utility enchants | Yes, with /pay |
|
| Mining, quests, pickaxe levels | Token enchants, pickaxe quality | No | |
| Mining | Shard enchants, the heavy hitters | No | |
| Prestige milestones | Mine and autominer upgrades | No | |
| The store, voting, quests, the Battle Pass | Ranks, crates and cosmetics | Only on the marketplace |
Money
Every block you mine sells for money straight into your balance. Your money then buys prestige on its own as it comes in, so your balance usually stays low while your prestige climbs. That’s normal.
Money also buys the utility enchants, like Efficiency, Speed and Fly. See Enchantments.
Money is the only currency you can give to someone else: /pay <player> <amount>. To save money up
for a payment, the casino or coinflip, turn off Auto Prestige in /settings first, or it will be
spent on prestige.
A rebirth resets your money.
Tokens
Tokens come from mining, mostly through the Token Finder enchant, and from quests and pickaxe level rewards. They buy the token enchants, the everyday ones like Fortune and Token Finder, and pickaxe quality. The Token Vein upgrade in your mine adds more.
Tokens are bound to you and stay through a rebirth.
Shards
Shards are found while mining, mostly through the Shard Finder enchant. They buy the shard enchants: the area enchants that tear through your mine, and the rarest procs.
Shards are bound to you and stay through a rebirth.
Gems
Gems are the store’s currency. You get them from the store, by voting, from quests, daily streaks, the Battle Pass and gang seasons, and by selling cosmetics on the marketplace. They buy ranks, crates, cosmetics, the premium Battle Pass and other players’ cosmetics.
Gems never buy enchants, prestige or upgrades. They can’t be paid to another player (a marketplace sale is the only way they change hands), and they stay through a rebirth.
Merits
Merits are paid by prestige milestones. Spend them in
/mine upgrades on your mine and in /mine autominer on your autominer.
Everything they buy is yours for good.
A rebirth resets the Merits you haven’t spent, so spend them before you rebirth.
Your balance
/balance (or /bal) opens a menu with every currency you hold, the exact amount, and what each is
for. Click Gems to open the store, or Merits to open your mine upgrades. /balance <player>
shows someone else’s.
Prefer it in chat? Turn off Balance Menu in /settings.
Tip: while you mine, the bar above your hotbar shows the money, tokens and shards you’re earning per minute.
