Events
Parkour, Thimble and Block Party, with Riot coming soon.
Events are short games everyone on the server can join: a parkour race, a jump into a pool, a dance floor that falls away, and soon a free-for-all brawl. Anyone can play, and everyone who takes part goes home with a crate.
Joining an event
When an event opens, everyone online is told, with a title on screen and a message in chat. To take part, type:
/event join
Once enough players have joined (usually two), a 30-second countdown starts, and then the round
begins. Changed your mind? /event leave takes you out.
Your inventory is put away safely when you join, and given back when the event ends. If the server restarts mid-event, you get it back the next time you join.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/events |
What’s on, what’s open now, and when each event runs next. |
/event join |
Join the event that’s open. |
/event leave |
Leave the event you’re in. |
/event schedule |
The timetable of player events. |
When events run
Player events run on a timetable that staff set, and staff can also open one any time. Check
/events or /event schedule to see the next one. If nobody joins a scheduled event, it closes
itself after 10 minutes.
A round can last up to 15 minutes.
Tip: there are also mining events that aren’t on any timetable. They just happen while you mine, so keep an eye on chat.
Rewards
Every event pays the same way, in Event Crates:
| Place | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1st | 3 Event Crates |
| 2nd | 2 Event Crates |
| 3rd | 1 Event Crate |
| Everyone else who took part | 1 Event Crate |
The winner gets a few seconds of celebration, with fireworks, before everyone is sent back. See Crates for what an Event Crate holds.
Parkour
A race. Everyone starts together on the lights: 3, 2, 1, GO. Run the course, touching every checkpoint in order, then run through the finish flag. The fastest time wins.
Fall off and you’re put back on your last checkpoint, not out of the race. Your progress and time show on screen as you go.
Thimble
One jump, one splash. Players take turns jumping off a platform into a pool below. Land in the water and that spot turns solid, so the pool shrinks as the round goes on. Miss and you lose a life. Take too long on your turn and that counts as a miss too.
How many lives you get depends on how many are playing, from one in a small game up to three in a big one. If the pool fills up, sudden death kicks in: it’s covered over except for a small gap in the middle, and the gap gets smaller each time. The last player with a life left wins.
Block Party
The floor is painted in colors, and one color is called out. When the timer runs out, every block that isn’t that color disappears. If you’re not standing on the called color, you fall and you’re out.
Each round is a little faster than the last. The last player standing wins.
Riot
Coming soon: Riot is still being tuned, so the details below may change before it opens.
Everyone against everyone, in the same kit. Each fighter has three lives, and the last one standing wins.
Nobody really dies: a blow that would kill you costs a life instead, and you’re healed and put back in with a few seconds of protection. Lose your last life and you watch the rest of the round as a spectator.
The Yard is a capture point. Stand on it alone and a 60-second timer counts down; it only resets if you come off it, whether you’re knocked off, killed or walk away. Hold it to the end to capture it once for the round:
- In a gang? Your gang’s value goes up by 25,000.
- No gang? You get an Event Crate, paid after the round.
Capturing the Yard doesn’t end the round. Gangmates can fight side by side, but friendly fire stays on, so a stray hit still costs a life. If everyone still standing is in the same gang, they all win together.
The last two minutes are the Lockdown: every survivor glows through walls, and nobody heals on their own any more. If time runs out, whoever has the most lives left wins, and kills break a tie.
